In a statement likely to aggravate European and other PAL region gamers disappointed that once again they find themselves last in line for a new gaming product, Sony have stated they believe European gamers (and, therefore, Australian gamers too) "don't mind" waiting for the PlayStation 3 console. Whilst American and Japanese gamers will be getting the new console in time for Christmas, PAL regions will be left waiting until March 2007 - a move which has left gamers in the region feeling more than a little victimised.

"European consumers have shown that historically they don't mind [the delays], because they end up buying as many PlayStations, if not more, than the US and Japan," Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide European Vice President Jamie McDonald told GamesIndustry.biz this week. "If we were sitting here in five years' time, I don't think we'd really think about or notice that PlayStation 3 was four or five months later in Europe. I think in the long run, PlayStation 3 will succeed because of the great product it is and the great software we make for it," he explained.

PAL territories once again look to have been the last to be considered when it comes to new hardware... a situation sometimes echoed in games releases too, especially those developed in Japan. Then again, Sony are quite right to point out that until consumers start voicing their disapproval via their wallets, then nothing is likely to change anytime soon.

    Why don't they try looking into the forums. They might find that there are thousands of people out there that are very dissappointed to the point of not being loyal to Sony anymore. I think they want to fool their stock holders into thinking that PAL territories don't care about waiting.

    He thinks we don't mind simply because historically we have always been last. He's in for one huge shock come March next year. Sony have treated europe like crap one time too many.

    Sony will treated europe like crap as long as europe support sony. But now long europe support sony?
