Haze official - Ubisoft
New FPS from Free Radical confirmed
Free Radical's new FPS franchise Haze was first revealed by internet reports earlier in the week, and the advent of the E3 expo in LA has seen publisher Ubisoft make the new title official. Ubisoft and TimeSplitters developer Free Radical clearly hope they have a available new 'IP' on their hands in the shape of Haze, which is being developed for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game is due out in early 2007.
"We are really pleased to be introducing this ground-breaking new intellectual property and to work with the best shooter developers on consoles" enthused Ubisoft's John Parkes. "With Haze, Ubisoft demonstrates its profound commitment to the next-generation of video games and will definitely have a chance to deliver a top notch shooter in one stunning package".
Playing as Jake Carpenter in the near-future, Haze will set-out with you working for a corporate army attempting to rid South America of a powerful rebel group, The Promise Hand. However, everything is set to go more than a little awry for the government sponsored army of Mantel Corporation. Bio-medical support will add a new element to the gameplay, already backed by an array of high-tech weapons and vehicles.
A heady mix of bleeding-edge AI and physics is promised by Free Radical, alongside stunning outdoor and indoor environments which will take Carpenter from humid jungles to mountain summits battling the brutal rebels. Finally, a full compliment of competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes will feature. More on Haze as we get it.
