In a new interview freshly published stateside, Microsoft chief Bill Gates reveals his admiration for Nintendo, but also notes the company's risky design decisions. "They march to the beat of a different drummer," Gates stated. "Sometimes that makes them incredibly right and sometimes that makes them incredibly wrong. They're certainly making a very different bet in terms of how much they're putting into the graphics this time. I do think there is a question as to whether they can get outside the young age bracket at all. That's been tough for them."

Pointing the world's wealthiest man towards the Revolution console's innovative controller, Gates conceded that it was a brave and potentially ground-breaking move, but added that he was still unconvinced with the two-handed remote.

Unsurprisingly, Gates is very upbeat about the prospects for the Xbox 360, stating that many mistakes made with the original have been learnt from. He also said of his decision to take the company into the gaming industry, "we're going to make that look like a good decision no matter how long it takes."

Peter Moore also chimed in during the same article, stating on the Revolution controller: "I found it very intriguing, and I'm always a big fan of companies that try and innovate in a space where we need to do things a little differently." He also noted the risks of the untested controller, before revealing his desire to one day witness a Shigeru Miyamoto game on the Xbox...

More as we get it.

I expect to see Halo on a Nintendo system before I see a Miyamoto game on the Xbox. (Trade, anyone?)

Funny, I found another article on the same topic entitled: "Gates has doubts about the Revolution Controller"

But hey this is Bill Gates, the FUD master. Maybe its because he's old, but his tricks are more obvious than ever.

Typical FUD technique: Praise some established competitor, then pull a couple of subtle jabs using some myths, half-truths or exagerated "clichés" about the competiton.

"Sometimes that makes them incredibly right and sometimes that makes them incredibly wrong."

That's politically correct for stating the obvious...the latter half of the statement.

The XBOX 360 is SOOOO overhyped. He is in no position to say that when the Revo will rule.
