EA grab We Love Katamari

Great news gamers!

Recognising the excellence and potential of the excellent Katamari Damacy, the world's largest publisher EA have announced a deal to co-publish the sequel to this quirky slice of pure gaming brilliance from Japan. EA will bring We Love Katamari to Europe and other PAL regions in early 2006, alongside developer Namco. The new game will carry on the insane theme of the original, featuring massive balls of 'stuff' being rolled around levels growing as more and more objects are collected. It's a hard premise to explain with words, but trust us, its brilliant - and this EA deal is great news for the game's chances of success.

The original game made it from Japan to North America, but failed to earn a release in PAL regions, much to the consternation of gaming critics who adored this original title. "At last, the time has come for our fans in Europe to enjoy We Love Katamari. I am so excited about this! Basically, this is a silly game that doesn't involve a whole lot of thinking, but if you will just laugh and sing along as you roll, roll and roll, I'm sure you will find it to be a lot of fun," commented the mastermind behind the game, Keita Takahashi.

Bring on early 2006, then, we can't wait.
