Whilst the media spotlight has firmly moved onto GTA and that mod in recent weeks, before that Eidos' driver-shooter 25 to Life was causing America's right-wing to get hot under the collar, senator Chuck Schumer attacking the game's amoral police-versus-gangs premise. One gamer however, seems to have had enough with politics interfering with his gaming, and has launched an online petition supporting the 25 to Life. The petition isn't doing too well so far, but Brian Zelden's outspoken introduction is sure to strike a cord with many gamers.

"We the people are tired of the government's ignorance. We the people are tired of the government blaming video games for the actions of sick people. We the people want politicians (and everybody else) to remember we live in America, the home of free speech and free enterprise," read Zelden's opener. 25 to Life's developer certainly seem to appreciate the sentiment, despite openly questioning what good it will do. "It's still early so it's tough to say," commented Mike Betti of HWY1 Productions. "Is it something that politicians will reference in an effort to showcase a more balanced opinion? We're not holding our breath."

Gamers signing the petition thus far have criticised political ignorance about gaming, and also offered support for the American ESRB rating system, recently attacked as partial by politicians demanding stronger censorship of Grand Theft Auto. Fortunately for 25 to Life, it seems likely at this juncture that the mass media and the politicos will be tied-up lambasting GTA when this game approaches release. More soon.

Hey dummy who wrote this article, Chuck Schumer is not part of America's "right-wing." Chuck Schumer is an extreme liberal Democrat like Hillary Clinton. These are the idiots from the left-wing attacking the video game industry, not the right-wing. Maybe you should do a little research before you write about this subject.
