With Half-Life 2 but a couple of weeks away from launch, Valve have begun talking about their plans following this climatic debut, with word today that Counter-Strike: Source will be getting some new maps and player models in December. Classic battleground de prodigy will be back, as well as one brand new construction, we're told.

"We're working on porting some more of the classic maps right now, currently de prodigy is in the works. We'll be releasing this as quickly as they are completed," commented Erik Johnson on a CS fansite. "We're also working on one original map, which will begin internal playtesting this week. This still means we have a fair amount of work to do on it."

Two new player models were also confirmed, and all this should add significantly to the current offering - available for Steam-using Half-Life 2 purchasers - which features nine maps currently. All in all, we can't wait to see where Valve are taking this hugely improved CS experience.

de_prodigy, "one original map" and "two new player models" and... come on, is that all?? LOL!
Sorry, Luke, but all this IS NOT enough to "add significantly to the current offering". No way, man!
