Half-Life 2 on November 16th
Oh. Yes.
The wait is finally beginning to draw to a close; the conjecture and confusion surrounding Half-Life 2's release is over - we are, at last, in the endgame. November 16th is when the game will be released, regardless of whether you purchase a boxed copy at a shop or download a pre-ordered copy via Steam (orders began last week), and we've now less than a month to wait. Many had feared further delays owing to legal wranglings between Valve and publisher VU Games, though it seems both company's are now just keen to see their opus hit the streets.
Certainly, the game has been wowing those who've played it of late, many magazines covering early versions of the title awarding it very high scores and describing it as one of the finest examples of the genre; which has certainly excited eager gamers further. The game will ship in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, traditional and simplified Chinese, Korean, Thai and Japanese simultaneously for a worldwide release on the 16th, an impressive feat considering the problems Valve have encountered in the latter stages of development. We'll keep you informed regarding all things Half-Life 2.

From what ive heard there will only be an initial shipment of 40,000 units as everyone has to register on the net, and the server can only hold that many a day (evberyone will register on day 1 when they buy it). Better get those pre-orders in!
