E3 2004: The PSP playable in Tokyo
Not yet - but soon...
Whilst the debate over whether the PSP or DS is the most likely to succeed is kicking off already, it seems strange to consider that we've yet to actually play Sony's offering, which has shied away from playability at E3 whilst the DS has embraced it. However, those keen on giving the wee beast a whirl won't have to wait too long, as the PSP and its first selection of playable games, have been confirmed by Sony for the Tokyo Games Show this September.
The event and the reception of the PSP will be key to Sony, coming just two months before the handheld's full debut in Japan. The TGS, Asia's largest gaming expo, attracts a myriad of gaming punters over its two days and is held just outside Tokyo at the Nippon Convention Centre. We will of course be on hand to bring you all the latest from the show.

This is gonna rock SO MUCH, i've already preordered two to get it from japan in november with GT4, one for my brother and one for me so we can play multiplayer!!!
ok listen up people since the psp vs ds fourum is full of comments i have decided to compile up the results of it and find out which will really win. Most of the people who buy the system are goin to post here about it on the psp vs ds fourum, so this is a pretty accurate(i think) way of portraying which will win. I tried to give one tile per person, so if you posted twice, you will only be counted once(although i might have made 1 or 2 mistakes). so people, here are the results:
PSP: 31
DS: 68
NEWTRAL: 42
OTHER: 59
so as you can plainly see, the overall winner is the nintendo ds, so stop postin comments on how the PSP is so good!
one more thing, people who say nintendo is for kids, please realize that most kids dont go online, but the ds is the winner, so ds winns with teens, not psp.

Straight from the horse's mouth, Kaz Hirai: Again, if you're just listening to music with no visuals at all then it should last, as I said yesterday, about eight to ten hours just like an iPod would. If you are playing a game that is consistently cycling through and putting the CPU to good use, yeah, battery life is going to be shorter. Maybe about two and a half, three hours.
i cant wait for the psp to release in the u.k. it will rock.

Whats tha matter witha all yall psp is goinng to take over the ds you can do a lot of stuff more then you can do on a ds, yes i like the touch screen on the ds but psp has better Graphics come on you can watch movies on it and there is a rumer that a phone will be on it and if that ever happends psp is going to take over and if you still playing mario on that ds if your 17 years old like me you shuld feel embarrassed
