EA have been busy promoting new action title Mercenaries 2 in London, and it appears one of their larger PR efforts may have caused a little controversy.

The firm dished out 20,000 GBP worth of petrol via one North London petrol station, prompting hundreds of motorists to flock to the pumps.

A number of motorists did get the free petrol on offer, but one London MP said the promotional initiative was "irresponsible".

Epic queues of cars were seen down residential streets, while locals were said to be more than a little cross with EA.

"Whilst a lucky few might have got some free petrol, hundreds of local residents have faced misery on their daily journeys this morning. They deserve an apology for being the victims of such an ill-thought out media stunt," railed the MP for Hornsey Lynne Featherstone.
