Patrick Redding, the man behind the story set to feature in the lovely-looking Far Cry 2, has revealed at the Games Convention in Germany that Ubisoft Montreal are already plotting Far Cry 3.

The African locale is set to remain, with a third game at the "preliminary" stages of planning.

"For us Africa still has a huge amount of promise," the writer told UK blog VG247.

"There are still things we want to do with the African setting, and I think it’s safe to say we’ll continue to explore it.

"That said, we might find something new and compelling about the Antarctic setting that wants us to make the next game there, but honestly, we’re still at the preliminary stages."

He added that the technology behind the new game could be used to craft other settings if the developers so wish it. Far Cry 2 is due out in time for Christmas. We'll have more soon.
