ArchLord passes the half-million mark

Codies praise free MMO success

Codemasters free MMO title ArchLord has now passed the 500,000 player mark, with registrants joining from Europe and North America.

The Codies Online published title is a fantasy-themed online offering, and is developed by Korea's NHN. Guild tussles are a focus, and the most successful player in the game world will earn the right to dominate the entire game server as the titular ArchLord.

Said boss will control the game world's finances, wield magic, command beasts and be murderously powerful, ruling the world from a dragon mount.

The title used to cost money, but has really taken off since Codies opened it up free of charge, hence the half-million milestone.

More on this as we get it.
