Look out Rock Band...
Activision have today lifted the lid on Guitar Hero World Tour, the publisher's response to the innovations of Rock Band, being developed by Neversoft.
As predicted, the new title will introduce voice and drum action into the guitar mix, with wireless instruments, a massive tracklisting, and even the ability to record your own multi-track tunes in the studio.
You'll even be able to share your compositions, with Acti promising to deliver the "most realistic drum experience ever". A bass pedal will be included in the drum set-up, along with three pads and two cymbals.
The drum set will be able to detect velocity, too, and Neversoft will also mastermind a redesigned, "more responsive" guitar. Online, Band Career mode will support up to four players, and then then there's Battle of the Bands mode.
More customisation is also the order of the day, players able to define details about the look of their band. "With Music Studio, we are once again delivering unprecedented innovation that has the potential to revolutionize consumer generated music, much in the same way that video sharing hubs have driven user generated video," says RedOctane's Dusty Welch.
The game is out on the PS3, 360, PS2 and Wii this year - more soon.
