Battlefield Heroes not just about profit
Producer says game is good for marketing
Battlefield Heroes producer Ben Cousins has told VG247 that the forthcoming free-to-play action title might not even need to be profitable, as the game will draw new players into the Battlefield franchise.

"That would be down to someone more senior that me," Cousins said, when asked about whether the game might be pulled if it isn't sufficiently profitable.
"But my personal [view] would be that if we’re at least breaking even I’d like to keep the game running, just because it’s quite a good way of recruiting younger players into the Battlefield franchise and to teach them how to play for free, and as a marketing tool, frankly."
The producer goes on to reveal that interest in the game has been strong, and that DICE aren't too worried about the business side of things at present.
Battlefield Heroes will be free to play, although players will have the option of enhancing their experience by purchasing in-game content. A closed beta is kicking off now.
