Killzone 2 pushed back to avoid Christmas scramble
Delay was a management decision
Reports in this morning reveal that Killzone 2's move into February 2009 was undertaken because Sony wanted to avoid the scramble of releases likely around Christmas; to prevent Sony titles having to compete with each other.

"Killzone 2 was moved to Feb 2009 to make sure we didn't have three shooters in the marketplace competing for retail dollars during the same holiday season," SCEA's Ron Eagle said on the US PlayStation blog.
"To be clear, there is nothing wrong or causing a delay to the development of the title. We (SCEA) had to look at the [autumn] calendar with SOCOM, LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Resistance 2, plus some PSN titles and make a decision where each game should come out."
More on Killzone 2 is expected at E3 in July, we'll be on-hand to keep you informed.
