The Protector confirmed

Cannon and Ball...

Polish game makers Gingerbread have announced a new third-person shooter today, called The Protector.

The action title promises to mix things up by putting you in charge of two characters, both blessed with different talents. We'll be playing as British mercenary Jonathan Kane, a heavy-hitting beast of a man, who will be joined by cunning US archaeologist Jennifer Guile - who is beautiful and more than a little crafty.

This unlikely pair are off in search of an Aztec artefact, and to avenge Jen's father's murder, and they used to be lovers, so hopefully we can expect a little rumpy-pumpy, beyond the inevitable battling and puzzling.

The action could include shades of Gears of War, given the third-person aesthetic, and there will be some sneaking - beyond the wholescale gunplay. Gingerbread also promise some hefty AI.

Two endings will be presented depending on the choices you make, and all in all, we'll keep you posted on this.
