The prospect of a Halo game for mobile platforms remains a long way off, if today's news is anything to go by. The French firm charged with creating the new game, In-Fusio, is in the process of taking legal action against Microsoft. In-Fusio believe Microsoft is trying to wrongly terminate an agreement worth 2m USD. The developer are presently withholding a licensing payment worth 500,000 USD, and for their part Microsoft claim this is the reason they wish to terminate the agreement. In-Fusio counter this by alleging that Microsoft are refusing to approve game designs. Oh dear.

In-Fusio agreed a deal with Microsoft last September, which would cover Halo themed ringtones and wallpapers as a prelude to the release of a full mobile game. Said game has failed to materialise thus far, however, as Microsoft have reportedly been failing to approve concepts offered. "Microsoft has thwarted In-Fusio's efforts to develop Halo under the agreement," read a statement from In-Fusio. "Indeed, in the last 11 months, Microsoft has approved no fully developed In-Fusio game designs; ignoring and then refusing to accept In-Fusio's game design concepts with little or no explanation and leaving In-Fusio little basis to revise its concepts to obtain Microsoft's approval."

The mobile developer are seeking an injunction and damages through the courts. More on this as we get it.
