Speaking in an exclusive interview conducted by US games site 1UP.com, Bungie's music director Marty O'Donnell has assured gamers that whilst Halo remains very much part of the developers plans, that they also have other tricks up their sleeve beyond the smash-hit series. "We're Bungie, not Halo," O'Donnell affirmed, stating that Bungie's future is not all about continuing the line of Halo games.

O'Donnell told 1UP.com of a desire among certain members of the team to create a few games for the Xbox Live Arcade, which would probably represent something of a refreshing departure for the firm after the triple-A pressures of working on the console's headline series.

Having said that, the music director was at pains to assure fans: "We're not walking away from Halo, because it's a great universe and a great franchise. There's lots of story that we can tell about Halo, but we're working on other stuff."

The interview in question also touches on Bungie's hopes and fears for the forthcoming Halo movie, and more on the firm's future ambitions. All in all, Halo fans should be both assured of both the developer's ongoing commitment, but also of the company's desire to mix things up a little. More soon, then.
