Nintendo reveal DSi memory plans
Details emerge post-launch
The firmware within the DSi handheld has been updated following the new platform's Japanese debut over the weekend, reports online revealing that the system has 1,024 memory blocks within it - or about 256 Mb, if you prefer.
The DSi also bundles in SD card support, although this is the first time the system's specifics have been confirmed, Nintendo pointedly refusing to talk about such details prior to launch.
Apparently, the new system prevents R4 cards and other tools used by home-brew developers and pirates from working as well, while the online shop is now live via Wi-Fi for Japanese gamers. Only the Opera web browser is available for download thus far.
We'll bring you more on the Japanese-only DSi as we get it. The system is out in the West next summer.
