World of Warcraft sidles past 11 million

Another record falls by the wayside

Warhammer... what? Age of... who? Blizzard's MMO opus carries on its march up the charts this week, the developer dropping by to let us know that the game has now topped 11 million subscribers, irrespective of stiff competition.

"It’s been very rewarding to see gamers around the world continue to show such strong support for World of Warcraft," enthused boss Mike Morhaime.

"We remain fully committed to responding to that enthusiasm with a high-quality, constantly evolving game experience."

The Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack should arrive on November 13th, and this could further drive sales of the record-breaking online title.
