Xbox Live could block audio swearing
New technology patented by Microsoft
Word on the interweb this evening reveals that Microsoft have successfully bagged a patent for technology which blocks swearing in real-time audio streams.
If it works as well as Redmond hope, this could see users of Live able to block the never-ending swearing which sees some users turning off voice chat in multiplayer games.
Of course, Microsoft be will hoping that the ability to silence the swearers will help enhance their family and casual credentials; encouraging parents to introduce their kids to the gleaming world of the New Xbox Experience (which will arrive next month).
We'll bring you more on this new-fangled technology once Microsoft start introducing it - or at least telling us about it.
