Blizzard executive Mike Morhaime has revealed that his studio still hope to release expansion packs updating World of Warcraft on a yearly basis.

That said, Blizz won't debut a new add-on for at least another year now, following the arrival of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

Chatting with Eurogamer.net, Morhaime did note that nothing is set in stone, affirming that "as with anything, there is this underlying rule that trumps everything, which is that we'll take as much time as we need until... it reaches the expectations of ourselves and our players."

He stated that at present, his team are taking somewhat longer than a year still, adding that the content makes the wait worth while, and that fans will relish the Lich King pack.
