Speaking in Bungie's weekly update after the developer's mid-week announcement of Halo 3 Recon at the Tokyo Game Show, Bungie have confirmed in a new FAQ-style posting that no 'Recon' content will be added to Halo 3 in downloadable form.

"Beyond the Mythic Map Pack early next year, there are no plans to release other portions of the Recon package outside of the retail box," read a matter of fact update.

Bungie are however promising something of a surprise for Halo fans, but it seems this won't be Recon content delivered via Live.
