50 Cent sequel to be published by THQ?

With the Activision Blizzard merger having seen a number of former VU/Sierra games fall by the wayside, you won't be surprised to learn that the controversy courting 50 Cent sequel was apparently among the game's expunged from the enlarged publisher's portfolio.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is not '50 Cent in Iraq', we're mercifully told, but it won't be published by Activision Blizzard, rather, we hear that THQ are set to deliver this new shooter - which kind of makes sense given that publisher's past experience with the Saints Row series.

THQ's new role was seemingly exposed via the OFLC classification website, which lists the company as the game's publisher.

We're awaiting official confirmation of this move.
