Sony Computer Entertainment America have today confirmed that they are increasing the availability of pay-as-you-go style cards for PlayStation Network purchases.

A rash of new retailers will start selling the cards over the course of October and November, we hear, Sony clearly hopeful that the vouchers might interest Christmas shoppers.

Walmart, Best Buy, select Sam’s Club will begin stocking the cards next month, followed by Barnes & Noble College Bookstores in November.

PSN boss Eric Lempel is clearly pleased: "With the holiday season right around the corner, these cards are an ideal gift option for friends and family, whether they are movie aficionados, dedicated gamers or something in between."

More PSN news soon.
