XNA developers to pocket up to 70% of Marketplace revenue
Sounds like a pretty good deal to us
Developers of XNA games that appear on the Xbox Live Marketplace can expect to receive "up to 70 percent of the total revenue generated by their game" say Microsoft.
The games created by members of the XNA Creators Club are due to start going on sale this autumn and are set to cost between 200 and 800 MS points.
Speaking to Joystiq new XNA general manager Boyd Multerer detailed the three specific price points games will appear at, 200 Microsoft Points (GBP 1.70 / EUR 2.40), 400 MS Points (GBP 3.40 / EUR 4.80) and 800 MS Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60). He also announced a 50MB limit on titles at the lowest price point while ones in the other two will be allowed to go up to 150MB.
Each game will be available in demo form as well but there will be no Achievements, avatars or Live Party support. To ensure quality levels are maintained each game will have to be submitted to peer-reviews from other members of the XNA community before they can be added to the Live Arcade catalogue.
