A raft of major PS3 titles have announced they will be support in the new Trophy system, added as part of the new 2.40 firmware update today.

Trophies will of course see players earning literal awards for in-game success, with Criterion the first third-party to confirm support in Burnout Paradise.

"We’d like to confirm here that Criterion will be supporting PlayStation Trophies in a future update of Burnout Paradise. It won’t be the Codename: Cagney update, but Trophies will be coming to Paradise soon," enthused the developer.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune will also be getting Trophy support, according to Eric Lempel, who told Gamespy: "We can officially confirm that besides the titles we’ve already announced, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune will also receive a patch at some point in the foreseeable future."

Super Stardust HD is the next game to guarantee Trophy support - a version 4.00 update will introduce support for the new PSN / PS3 feature.

Buzz! Quiz TV, out this Friday, will be the first title released to support the new rewards system. More games are likely to jump onboard soon.
