Blizzard have officially unveiled Diablo 3 today, during a press conference at their Worldwide Invitational event, taking place at the Porte de Versailles Expo Centre in Paris.

The shindig is the first to be held in Europe by Blizzard, and this announcement is of likely to rock the internet this weekend.

Reports from Paris suggest that visually the game looks stunning, players battling vast, diverse hordes of enemies. Apparently equipment will be designed to fit in with each unique class too - while Blizzard assure us they are going wild on the quest front.

The game's lead designer tells us that Diablo 3 will be all about the co-operative play, this being the developer's focus, first and foremost.

Blizzard wouldn't say when this massive new RPG will be out, but vice president Frank Pearce has told us the title will be crafted with the developer's in-house 3D engine. He did tell the Worldwide Invitational that the game will be released on the Mac, in addition to the PC.

The title's plot will kick off 20 years after Lord of Destruction, the singleplayer story of similar length to Diablo 2.
