Last week's Japanese hardware chart leader is history, the PlayStation 3 slipping down the ranking as the Metal Gear Solid 4 effect starts to wear-off.

Sony won't be too worried however, as the new chart leader is the PSP, according to the latest figures from Famitsu publisher Media Create.

The PSP sold over 59,000 units last week alone. The Wii was a distant second with about 41,000, then there's the DS third with 36,600.

The PS3 was fourth with just over 20,000 (the previous week's sales neared 60,000), while the PS2 is miles off on 6,000.

Oh, and the Xbox 360 had a good week. It sold over 2,000 units.
