Whilst you may have heard rumours of a Sony-backed PS2 exclusive Halo-beater for some time, it has taken until now for the curtains to be well and truly raised as Sony lifted the lid on their Dutch developed action title Killzone, which Guerrilla are working on. Guerrilla may be best known to you as Lost Boys, their former title.
As Sony's meagre two screenshots demonstrate, Killzone is looking rather impressive indeed, and if it lives-up to expectations could exceed anything currently available on the platform. Primarily, Killzone will be a singleplayer title, drawing on WWI/II tales to create a war-theme set in the future. I think.
Squad based management of the Earth's loyal ISA force will add a team-tactical element to the game, as you'll have upto four squadies at your fingertips. A massive online mode is also hyped in the official PR, with an online war being the suggestion, perhaps something similar to PlanetSide or Battlefield 1942 - but on the PS2, naturally.
We've no real specifics on much of these details, sadly, though what is clear is Killzone's ambition, so we can but hope for more details on this potential ace as the Q3 2004 release date draws closer.

I completly agree with spawnforlife that the xbox is 6 times the power of the crappy PS2 and that it can not compare a game Kill zone towards Halo. when Halo 2 arrive all other consols will suffer in debt problems because Halo 2 will destroy all other games compenies for life. HALO 2 WILL ROCK EVERYBODIES WOLRD !
Ps2 is so weak and the grphics power is perfetic. I advise every one with an PS2 to get an Xbox with Halo. and dont ague because I had a PS2 myself and with Vice city . Get a Xbox.

Killzone may have it's fame and glory one day (maybe like a couple of minutes), but when H2 comes out then you'll soon be seeing Killzone characters starring as Covenants - running out blowing their whistles in retreat from the Master Chief.. .. .. .. and the emmense amount of nuclear waves following close behind..

hello my name is god and i am posting a very good comment: I am god. actually i was going to say that killzone might have better single player than halo but multiplayer wont be as good without the system link it would be cool if ps2 gets a system link. The guns look awesome. The game would be better on xbox though cuz my ps2 takes forever to read discs

Playstations KillZone is going to beat Halo2 in the ground.I loved Halo1 and I know Halo2 is going to be great,but not better than KillZone.I have been looking up info,pics,and videos.I would give Halo2 a 9.6 and KillZone a PERFECT 10
