Who said the video game industry encourages anti-social behaviour and near-dangerous levels of addiction? Whoever it was, they were wrong, apparently, or so Nintendo seem to be trying to prove.

Latest in their line of wholesome self-improvement titles is to be Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking for the DS. That's right, not only do they want you to stop being fat and lazy, they want you to be beautiful on the inside too, respiration system-wise.

Claiming to be able to make stopping smoking actually enjoyable (a bold statement indeed), the game is based on Allen Carr's workshops, DVDs and books, all of which look to help you find out your psychological motivation for smoking, and empower you to remove these nasty insecurities.

If that doesn't sound like exciting enough gameplay to you, perhaps you'll be tempted by the promise of educational mini games showing you the harmful impact of smoking on your body. And if all that doesn't work, presumably the fact that it's bloody hard to smoke a fag when holding a DS in one hand and using the little wand in the other, unless you dangle it out of the side of your mouth old skool cleaning lady style, should go some way to forcing you to cut down.

Filthy smokers everywhere will be able to get their nicotine stained fingers on a copy from November.

Blimey. I read it as "Alan Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking for the DS", which would be much more entertaining... maybe.
