Lord of the Rings: Conquest unveiled
Pandemic's latest out of the shadows
EA-Pandemic have this week let slip the first details on their secret Lord of the Rings game, The Lord of the Rings: Conquest.
The new game will be released on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 come the autumn, and looks a bit like a new Battlefront title set in Tolkien's famous universe.
You'll be able to tackle key battles from the books and films, playing as one of a number of themed classes.
Strategy will be minimal as battles ebb and flow, but you will be able to play a pivotal role by completing particular objectives. Gandalf, Frodo, Aragorn and Legolas will feature in some capacity, too.
You can even play as those shady bad guys, should you wish too, a 'dark' campaign being unlocked once the good one is completed.
Co-op play is possible with four friends, or via split-screen, and eight player battles will be waged online.
All in all, Conquest sounds rather fun, so we look forward to more details in due course.
