Prince of Persia takes new artistic direction
Cell-shaded visuals mooted
The first scant details on Ubisoft's new Prince of Persia title are beginning to take shape now, and it appears that the game will be taking a new artistic direction, the creative team opting for a more stylised appearance via manga-esque cell-shading.
We're told to expect a more classically influenced story for the new outing, as well, our heroic Prince tasked with a battle to heal the world from the corruption of an evil god the Prince himself has unwittingly unleashed.
The Prince will be just as acrobatic as before, however the time-twisting abilities of past games will be omitted this time around.
We will however be able go along walls using a special glove, and gravity defying maneuvers will be a major element of the new title.
A more open-world approach to structure appears to be on the cards, though Ubisoft are quick to add that the game will still be more regimented than Assassin's Creed. More on this soon.
