We've known about it for a while, but a new Prince of Persia title is most assuredly on the way, Ubisoft today confirming that the Prince's next adventure is en route.

The game is due out later this year and we're promised a new chapter in the Prince's ongoing adventures, not to mention evolved gameplay.

The visuals sound particularly interesting, and we told the new PoP will "rejuvenate the action-adventure genre in addition to introducing a brand-new illustrative art style."

Ubisoft Montreal are crafting this for the PC, 360 and PS3. No title has been offered, although the publisher have registered the trademark Prince of Persia Prodigy.
