Game Informer's sizable new preview of Gears of War 2 has been unceremoniously dispersed across the internet, revealing a few new details about Epic's upcoming 360 sequel.

Perhaps most interesting is word that the game will include drop-in co-op play, while we're also told to expect an enlarged singleplayer campaign where we'll do battle with the horrid Locusts on their own turf (deep underground, in places).

Nastier creatures are promised as well, and the story will pick up six months after the first Gears of War game ended. Baird and Cole will be returning, while new faces Tai Kaliso and Dizzy will star, and we're promised a much more involving story with more attention to detail.

The popular cover mechanic will prevail and we're told new moving cover will also be included. New weapons will also be added, and a new vehicle - a Centaur tank - is set for inclusion.

Larger battles with more foes are mooted, and the visual ante will be upped thanks to better lighting, improved physics, new water effects, et al.

Multiplayer secrets remain just that, although the drop-in co-op feature has been revealed, and you'll also be able to play on a different difficulty level to your partner, which is clever.

A release in November is planned.
