Halo 3 Heroic Pack now free

The Halo 3 Heroic map pack, first launched back in December, is now available for free via Xbox Live, developer Bungie have today confirmed.

The pack formerly cost 800 Microsoft Points, but should have been made free as of 2am Pacific time in the States. Which has now passed. Is it free? We haven't checked, but perhaps a kind reader might tell us?

The Heroic map pack incorporates the new multiplayer arenas: Standoff, Rat's Nest's and Foundry.

Another new map pack, called Legendary, will be released by Bungie via Live come April 15th.
