EA and MTV are launching a special in-game Rock Band Music Store, reminiscent of SingStar's SingStore, delivering PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers extra lashings of content (but only in North America, because Europe still doesn't have the game, hmph).

The firms also announce that six million songs have so far been downloaded for the game, hence their plans to offer up a far greater selection of tracks, we'd imagine.

The new Music Store will allow you catalogue your songs by Artist, Song Title, Genre, Album or Pack, and promises a sort-of mini iTunes experience.

Song previews will be offered, allowing players to assess the difficulty, and album art will also be viewable now.

A new patch will imminently add this feature, as well as "additional game features that address many of the popular requests by the gaming community".

70 tracks are on offer now, and MTV are promising more every week.
