Ubisoft dodging "hardcore shooters"
French game maker vows to keep it mainstream
French publishing giant Ubisoft have vowed to side-step really "hardcore" shooting titles, the firm of the belief that the market is simply not large enough to support them.
Speaking to UK site Eurogamer.net, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 designer Phil Therien said that the "market was too narrow for it to be a viable business choice".
"We would like to be able to please both sides but compromises have to be made," the designer admitted on the subject of games in the Ghost Recon 1 ilk.
"We have some ideas to improve on the situation though - keep in mind however that we want our games to be accessible to as many people as possible, otherwise we just couldn't keep making games."
Ubisoft have also said there will be no Vegas 2 demo, that Wii development is being considered, DLC will be released post-launch, while face-mapping will also make it into Vegas 2.
