Prince of Persia flick shooting soon
This summer in Morocco, we're told
A cinematic rendition of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is scheduled to begin shooting this summer reports from Variety magazine reveal. The new movie will be filmed on location in Morocco.
"Producers are always looking for cheap places to shoot and Morocco is one of them," offered Disney representative Jimmy Abounouom. Filming should begin in June, with the UK's Pinewood Shepperton Studios providing interior sets.
Jerry Bruckheimer will produce, with Donnie Brasco's Mike Newell directing.
Prince of Persia mastermind Jordan Mechner is helping out, while The Day After Tomorrow writer Jeffrey Nachmanoff is in charge of the script.
A release in 2009 looks likely.
