Bungie have confirmed their festive Easter plans for Halo 3, promising us two weekends of fun and frolics, and two new new game-types.

From 8pm GMT this evening, until 8pm GMT on Monday, players will be able to get stuck into special mod "Grifball", as part of an unranked social playlist.

Grifball is a sporting-style mode, a bid like rugby, which involves competing teams of four trying to score goals. Gravity hammers and energy swords will be used to stop rivals scoring.

Prizes will be on offer.

On the 20th of March, again at 8pm GMT, Team SWAT (of Halo 2 fame) will be added to Halo 3. Double-experience will be on offer in unranked games. This pleasure will end on March 23rd at 8pm.

A few other tweaks and temporary changes will be introduced, as well, Bungie making games quicker and mixing up the action more - in a bid to regain their Live top-spot from CoD4.
