Sony Computer Entertainment Europe are refusing to de drawn on speculation that a PS3 video store has been demonstrated to large retail partners in the United States.

Word from games blog Kotaku has it that the video store was shown off to shop types at the Destination PlayStation showcase stateside; the event which also saw firm dating emerge for Metal Gear Solid 4 and a tied-in PS3 bundle.

Rumour has it that the store will use an interface similar to the "SingStore", with flicks from Sony Pictures set to be the first made available via the download service.

As and when a PS3 video store does arrive, the service will see Sony going head-to-head with Microsoft, who presently provide film and TV downloads via their Video Marketplace.
