A new auto-update patch for Halo 3 will be introduced this week, fixing a number of issues related to melee attacks during online play sessions.

Apparently, the new fix will address certain advantages that server hosts have sometimes during melee games, especially when playing across the Atlantic. Apparently, when two players appear to melee simultaneously, the host usually wins-out.

UK gamers have particularly suffered during bouts hosted across the pond, hence forum-moaning in some quarters.

Bungie themselves admit that "there are issues with several granular melee features - simultaneous strikes, shield depletion and so on."

The update should be out this week, we're told.
