Kim reveals new recruit
Shane Kim, Microsoft Game Studios big-wig, has today confirmed the appointment of Kudo Tsunoda as the new head of Microsoft's "Gears of War business".

Tsunoda was first mooted to be at the head of the new Gears of War title after EA closed their Chicago studio last year, the designer having previously delivered the excellent Fight Night Round 3. Rumours began circling last month that Tsunoda had in fact defected to Microsoft in the wake of the studio closure.
"I'm really excited about it," Kim revealed to US site IGN at the DICE Summit. "We wanted to put more focus behind [Gears of War], and it's great to get a creative lead like Kudo."
Kim refused to be drawn on whether this appointment can be regarded as confirmation of a sequel, pointing out that there's plenty still to be done with the first outing, however given last month's rumours it seems like Tsunoda will be helping deliver a number two.
More on Gears of War as we get it, then.
