New Prince of Persia spied
More business-based revelations
More from the be-pie-charted pages of Ubisoft's financial report, today, the publisher letting slip that a new Prince of Persia game is in the offing, and is likely to be released during the 2008-9 financial year. That's April onwards, to you and me, though we'd bank on a festive release being the present plan.
The Two Thrones was the last 'proper' Prince release, apart from the Classic version on the Xbox Live Arcade, and everything's been rather quiet on our Persian hero - Ubisoft opting to direct the world's gaze upon Assassin's Creed for the most part.
Still, speculation has raged for a couple of years that a new Prince is in development, not least because of some 2006 documents accidentally uploaded that year, including the file name "POP0" - prompting talk that a prequel could be the plan.
Of course, the gameplay and aesthetic advances of Assassin's Creed could work wonders in a new Prince game. And that's what we're expecting. WONDERS.
More as we get it.
