Ubisoft have only officially confirmed plans to launch Splinter Cell: Conviction on the Xbox 360 and PC, although word in today from retailer GAME suggests that the title could also be heading to the PlayStation 3, too.

An 'early 2008' debut has been previously mooted for the latest installment in the popular series, but GAME offer an April 1st release date on all platforms - which could of course be nonsense. So, either the retailer have made a simple mistake, or the publisher have a secret PS3 release up their sleeve.

When contacted, Ubisoft declined to comment on a PS3 version of Conviction, nor any related release date, however, responses seem to stop just shy of an outright denial.

We'll keep our eyes peeled for more on this.

Splinter Cell is really an amazing game!
Especially the Original Splinter Cell & Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow had the most Original Places like In-Door Infiltration, Base Infiltration, CIA Headquarters, Indonesian Forests, Jungle!
Also more Lights that had to be shoot out to totally black out the entire area, Security Cameras, Infrared Sensors, Motion Sensors, and much more that we fans really missed most of those Magic Moments on any further Splinter Cell titles!
Well the good add-on on the 3rd & 4th Splinter Cells were the Increased A.I. behaviour of Enemies and the Change of the Weapon held on the left or the right side with the press of the R3 button!
Unfortunately the most Action and more Freedom to Kill Terrorists had been missed in the last two Splinter Cells!
Maybe a good idea for any next Splinter Cell title would be like this:
    - Most Missions should take place in In-Door and some Urban enviroments and some Jungle places like Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow
    - More tricky places which you will have to take care that you won't expose off yourself by your own Shadow (any lights existing in any area should affect the Player's Shadow with any movement
    - Lighten up most areas, in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory & Double Agent almost any Place was dark and the Guard's couldn't even smell you (lol), time to hide from corner to corner and not only from darkness to darkness!
    - Allow to freely choose your own Equipment at each start of your Mission (just like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, RECOMMENDED / STEALTH / ASSAULT / CUSTOM), like Frag Grenades, Flash Bangs, Smoke Grenades, Chaff Grenades, Ammo & Equipment (for example: sacrificing 5.72 Pistol Ammo & SC-20K Ammo with more Shotgun & Sniper Rifle Ammo)
Armor LIGHT / MEDIUM / HEAVY which should affect Sam's overall Performance of movements
    Camouflage selection!
    - Quick Mission Mode:
Any unlocked Mission through Story Mode should have Mission selection properties options like, REGULAR (replay each Mission with Original Objectives from Story Mode) / ELIMINATION (wipe out all Terrorists) / BOMB DEFUSE (like Time Attack but with many Bombs and any Bomb defused should reset the timer for the next hidden Bomb) / DESTINATION (start from point A to point B without knocking out any Guards)
And with any Unlocked Missions, Weapons, Gadgets & Equipment should be available to any Mission that Normaly couldn't be used from the beginning!
    - More places to find and defuse bombs within the time limit (passing through fire and Wall Mines)

I think that would make the Game more fun and there surely will be a good reason to replay the whole game for a long time!
