Valve's content delivery system Steam goes from strength to indomitable strength, MMO EVE becoming the latest title to be distributed via the service. Hitting Steam, EVE will offer players a free 21 day trial and 5 USD off the first month's subscription, should you decide to stay with the space-based persistent world title.

EVE is also available as a free download from the official site, but only comes with a two week trial and no initial subscription discount. The developers seem to be using Steam to help promote their game, then, the first MMO firm to do so.

The world of EVE has been spruced up in recent months, developers CCP updating the visuals to take advantage of technological improvements and the advent of DirectX 10.

13 million accounts are in operation for EVE, although the number of actual subscribers is presumably far lower. We'll keep you posted.
