Britain's 81 year-old Queen still has a spring in her step apparently, Her Royal Highness having reportedly indulged a spot of Wii play over the Christmas period.

The console is of course designed for non-hardcore gamers, and the monarch apparently couldn't resist giving it a whirl herself when Prince William found one of the consoles in his Christmas stocking. This is as reported by UK newspaper The People, just so you know.

The tabloid report suggested that the Queen "thought the Nintendo looked tremendous fun and begged to join in." Long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton apparently bought the Prince the console as a festive gift. The Queen is said to have played the bowling game included with Wii Sports.

Does anyone else know of any unlikely celebrity Wii fans?
