Musical MTV game maker Harmonix are hard at work improving the flawed PlayStation 3 version of their new release Rock Band, it today emerges, the developer assuring miffed gamers that fixes are on the way.

"Some of you have contacted us about the PS3 edition of Rock Band - from issues with guitar compatibility to frustration that stand-alone guitars and drums for Rock Band have not yet hit stores," stated the developer this week.

"We are committed to providing the best play experience possible and working hard to ensure that we solve these problems as soon as possible. We promise to keep you updated and, in the meantime, we thank you for your patience."

Harmonix's Rock Band forums have been smothered in reports of bugs and glitches from PS3 users, while elsewhere the developer are also replacing a batch of mutant guitar controllers which somehow found their way into shops.support site will offer replacements for those unlucky enough to have bought a controller with a damaged strum bar.
