Sony's North American division has today stated that the Killzone 2 beta test has now been pushed back into 2008. Previously, the public test was set to get under way this side of the new year.

"We are hoping to do a beta but I don't think we'll have anything ready before this year is over... it is something we are working on for next year," someone in the know told PSX Extreme.

Developer Guerilla have been planning a public test in a bid to improve and stabilise the online multiplayer side of their new shooter, which is one of the PlayStation 3's big hopes for next year.

The game itself is due out in the third or fourth quarter of 2008, and we'll of course be on hand to keep you posted on that.
