Already released stateside, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has received a free update via Xbox Live.

The 72MB patch offers you an original composition from mad guitarist man Slash, with Tom Morello, in addition to a new cover of Devil Went Down to Georgia, most famously performed by The Charlie Daniels Band.

The tracks are already included in the game, but were previously only accessible after reaching the necessary part of the singleplayer game, something even avid players might not do initially, given that the real joy is to be found in multiplayer.

Guitar Hero III is out in Europe next Friday, while US gamers are already tinkling away on downloadable content from Velvet Revolver and the Foo Fighters. We'll bring you more this inevitable hoot of a game, soon.
