The latest publisher heading online to seek their fortunes is Codemasters, who have this week confirmed that a number of their upcoming releases will be launched over Valve's content delivery system Steam.

The online publishing platform is already used to offer titles such as Counter-Strike and the recently released Orange Box, with the system also becoming increasingly appealing to third-party firms as well. The first title live from the Codies will be Clive Barker's Jericho, followed by Overlord, DiRT and even Spark Unlimited's upcoming Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.

Apparently, in excess of 13 million gamers now use Steam, making the service a cost-effective way of not only delivering your new game release but also promoting it, too.

More Steamy-ness as we get it.
